Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson, son of the Reverend Edmund Nelson, Rector of Burnham Thorpe, in the County of Norfolk, and Catherine his(Edmund's) wife, daughter of Doctor Suckling, Prebendary of Westminster, whose grandmother was sister to Sir Robert Walpole, Earl of Orford.
Here's what I found: Maurice Suckling #22098 m. Anne Turner #22099 Maurice Suckling #22105 m. Mary Walpole #22106 William Suckling #22107 Catherine Suckling #22108 m. 11 May 1749 Edmund Nelson #22109
AND Horatio Nelson was the son of Catherine Suckling & Edmond Nelson; Catherine was the daughter of Maurice Suckling & Mary (Anne) Turner
My records would indicate that Sir Charles Turner outlived Mary his wife by about 30 years.
Now was Mary married to Maurice before or after her marriage to Sir Charles Turner(if in fact she were married to both) or did she have a child out of wedlock who's father acknowledged paternity? Were Mary and Anne in fact two separate women who have both been attributed with being the mother of Catherine perhaps due to a step-parent relationship by one of these women being confused for biology? Anyone have any light to shed on this puzzle?
