Just to clarify, my hunch is going perhaps with Fitz Warin or a possible Warin of Lorraine, as being maybe the Y to Y line DNA, that could be a match for Waring, Plante, and Hamelin Warenne. The reason that I am saying this is because, in the Warenne family of Herfastus being the forefather, said by history - Herfastus is a Dane, and so his Y to Y line DNA should be Danish. This may connect with the Viking lines out of Norway. The only apparent line of Plante like history, matching with Waring, is maybe a Warin of Lorraine, and the only one that I can readily think of is Fitz Warin, or, Warin who married the daughter of Roger Montgommery; this Warin was a border marcher along Welch frontiers.I can think of other possibilities that include Warner, but in any of these cases to think of, they spin out of the house of Lorraine, and so, would not be Warrenne, other than tie in with Hamelin's DNA, back to Fulk of Anjou and earlier. So far, there has been a tendency to cross out Fitz Warin, because of his low profile in ancestral genealogy, that is not readily available.Mainwaring is also a name that could be related by kinship, but, my guess is that this line is not going to be Waring, as I think perhaps, that the connection with Plant like history, and Mainwaring, would be via a female, to the line that I am thinking of - from Lorraine - or from Fulk I's lineage.
She is not Y to Y DNA.[For us to make a connection of DNA to historical persons, we need father to son DNA only, and I say this incase it is not clear for future participants to this project of genealogy and DNA].
To conclude, glad that you found your way here, and visa versa, & hope that we can all participate/collaborate on a cousin connect, now that some DNA has been linked with Plant and Waring.
Thanks so much
