I'm very pleased to see your message. I've suspected that Margaret's brothers were Michael and Andrew Warnock, and your information seems to point to it. Here is my information about William and Margaret, and would love to see what you have:
Generation No. 1
1.WILLIAM1 FORBES was born Abt. 1756 in VA, and died 07 Nov 1820 in Pendleton Dist, SC1.He married (2) MARGARET WARNOCK Abt. 1786 in SC.She died 27 Jun 1840 in Anderson Co, SC.
Notes for WILLIAM FORBES:
On 26 June 1775 William enlisted in the 3rd Regiment (SC) under Capt. John Caldwell; he was discharged in 1776 for medical reasons. He later joined the militia under Capt. Francis Logan and Col Pikcens, was on an expedition against the Indians. His obituary calls him "an old and faithful soldier during the Revolutionary War and one of the first settlers in this district."He is listed in the 1800 Census in Pendleton District: 20101-112100-00.This listing adds that he may be a member of the Forbus family that went from Amherst County VA to Jackson Co GA, travelling through SC.Talullah Jackson says he was Scots-Irish and came to America as a small boy.(The Revolutionary record says he was b in VA, PENDLETON CENSUS says "the ancestors of these people originally came from Scotland by way of Northern Ireland."William & Margaret Forbes sold 270 acres on both sides of Rocky River on 28 May 1801. Hope I am not a bother to you. Wanted to get your opinion on a discovery. I believe the following transactions describe some land or other parts of land you said William & Margaret sold in 1801. Looks like he sold part of it as early as 1788. Do you think this is the same William?

Pages 242-247. 30 Dec 1789. John Bowhannan of Pendleton County, S.C., Planter, conveys to Richard Lancaster of the said state and county, Planter, for 17 lbs State (currency) to be paid 9 Jan. 1790, and for 18 lbs State (currency) to be paid before 9 Jan 1791, a tract of land containing 200 acres, on the Waters of Hencoop and Neal's Creek, waters of Great Rocky Creek, bounded on all sides by vacant land, and hath such shapes and marks as are certified by a Plat of the said 200 acres dated 5 Mar. 1787, annexed
to a Grant formerly made by William Forbis unto the said Bowhannan.
Pages 247-250. 19 Nov 1788. William Forbis, Planter, conveys to John Buchanan, Planter, living in Abbeville County, S.C., for 30 lbs sterling, a tract of land containing 200 acres in Ninety-Six District, above the antient Boundary Line, on the waters of Hencoop, waters of Great Rocky Creek, granted 5 Mar. 1787 to the said William Forbis for being a Soldier in the Continental Line in Charleston, bounded on land laid out for Patrick Forbis.
Maybe this transaction is only part of the land he owned and he sold more in 1801. I hope this is the same William.
