I am not sure about the descendancy from William Wass born 1731.I have not concentrated on this line. I have been unable to track down a definite baptism for the Samuel Wass married to Elizabeth Ludlam that I am trying to take further back - however I am pretty sure that he was descended from Samuel Wass born North Wingfield in 1700, and was probably his grandson and that either his father was John Wass, or he was an illegitimate child of a daughter of the family. The name Ralph is significant - not a common name, but the youngest of my Samuel & Elizabeth's sons was called Ralph.
I have done some work on the earlier line, starting with Samuel born 1700. I am pretty certain that Samuel (1700) was son of Ralph Wasse baptised 2.11.1659 and Mary.
He in turn was son of Ralph Wasse baptised October 1635, wife's name not known.
Ralph baptised 1635 was definitely the son of Ralph Wasse baptised 1595 and his second wife Isabelle.
The last link is this chain is Henry Wasse, living in Morton who was the father of the 1595 Ralph.I have found out that Henry and the following generations of Ralphs were Churchwardens in both Morton and North Wingfield.
