I am new to the genealogy research world.I have tracked one branch of my family tree back to my great-great-great-greandmother Josephine Wasson Pashley. She was born May 19, 1871.She lived in Rotterdam, Schenectady, NY.From what I have been told by my grandmother, Josephine's mother was a full-blooded Native American from the Connecticut area.Mother and daughter supposedly cleaned houses in Schenectady.
According to the 1880 US Federal Census, Josephine and William (who I assume is her younger brother) were living with Amel and Sarah C. Hake and their daughter Louisa. At this point Josephine was 8 and William was 6.What I don't know is why Josephine and William were living with the Hake family and how they came to be there.
I do know that Josephine Wasson married Philip Mirfing Pashley on March 2, 1889 in Schenectady County.
I believe Josephine died in 1966 or 1967 in Saratoga, NY.
If anyone has any information on Josephine, William, or Amel or Sarah Hake.
