a Canadian soldier from 1900 who died in the Dawson City, Yukon Territory during the Klondyke Gold Rush. His name was Cpl. M.W. Watson
His death was suspicious. He died of an "accidental" pistol shot and is buried in a military grave in the police cemetery.
There was a coroner's inquest and this was heavily censored to the press at the time to state that it was not suicidal. After his death it was discovered that he was actually the Honourable M. W. St. John Watson, Beresford of Creaduff House, Athlone. He was the nephew of the Viscount Castlemaine. He was given a full military funeral.
