Hazel Waycaster Davenport, 2140 West G. Street, Elizabethton, died Friday, April 14, 2000, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness.
Ms. Davenport was a native of Carter County and the daughter of Mary Lucinda Shull Waycaster, Elizabethton, and the late David Waycaster.
Ms. Davenport was a retired employee of East Tennessee Undergarment with 28 years of service and was a member of the Ladies of the Moose Auxiliary. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include a daughter, Angela Davenport Gouge, Johnson City; a son, Rocky Davenport, Elizabethton; three brothers, Steve Waycaster, Johnson City, Bill Waycaster and Ralph Waycaster, both of Elizabethton; a sister, Ruby McClain, Cocoa, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Lindsey Smith, Johnson City, and Robert Davenport, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

DAVENPORT -- Funeral services for Hazel Waycaster Davenport, 2140 West G. Street, Elizabethton, who died Friday, April 14, 2000, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 16, in the Autumn Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Emory Thornburg officiating. Music will be under the direction of Ms. Debbie Ratliff, soloist. Graveside services and interment will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 17, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Shane Gouge, Randy Lewis, Larry Andes, Freddy Julian, Conley Waycaster and Ty Bowling. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Lipford, Keith Smith, Steve Chambers, Phillip Shull, J.L. Collins, Kevin Lipford, Mitchell Lipford, Matthew Lipford, Donley Davenport, Charlie Isakson, Michael Sansom, Bill Cornett, David Waycaster, Mitchell Waycaster, Tim Waycaster, Charles Hollowell, Dr. Scott Caudle, Dr. David Fenner, Dr. Eugene Galloway, Jim Cable and Rick Bird. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the Autumn Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home.
