Mrs. Belthia Waycaster, 85, Life Care Center of Elizabethton, formerly of Waycaster Road, Hampton, died Sunday, April 7, 2002, at Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Waycaster was a Tom’s Creek, Va., native and had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was a daughter of the late Lodge and Janie Calhoun Hicks. She was a member of Rittertown Baptist Church. Mrs. Waycaster was preceded in death by her husband, William Lacey Lawrence Waycaster; one son, Ed Waycaster; and one grandchild. Survivors include one son, William Waycaster, Hampton; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Belthia Waycaster, 85, Life Care Center of Elizabethton, formerly of Hampton, who died Sunday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Haynes officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the West Cemetery, Potterack Road, Hampton. The Carr Family will provide the music. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, will be Earnest Penland, Joseph Waycaster, Justin Waycaster, Charles Waycaster, friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a grandson, the Rev. Steve Waycaster, 121 Coleman Road, Hampton.
