Henry G. (George) Weatherwax was the son of Joseph Weatherwax (1797-1886) and his wife Catherine Grauberger. Both the Weatherwax and Grauberger families arrived in N.Y. Colony in 1710 as part of what was known as the Palatine Migration. The area of Europe they came from became Germany over 100 years later Henry's father Joseph C. Weatherwax was part of the 2nd generation of the family born in New York . Not Germany as maybe indicated on early census records. Joseph and Catherine had 4 children I can document: 1.Henry G. Weatherwax b:c1825 probably in Sharon,Schoharie co. NY 2.George Weatherwax b: 1 dec 1828 Sharon,Schohaire N.Y. 3.Harriet Angeline WX b:6 Jul 1831 Seward,Schoharie N.Y. 4.Orlando Deforest WX,b:23 Jul 1833;d:30 Jan 1836.
George married and stayed in Schoharie his whole life Harriet I only found in 1 USC and no record of death or marriage for her has been found by me. Henry's parents and brothe George are all buried in Slate Hill Cemetery,Sharon,Schoharie co. N.Y. Henry's grandfather Peter Weatherwax fought in the Revolution in the 14th Albany co Militia along with my direct ancestor David Weatherwax. Both the Weatherwax and Grauberger families arrive in North America in 1710 as part of what was called the Palatine Migration. This area of Euorpe would become Germany over 100 years later. Both families can trace their ancestors back to this 1710 arrival date. Wayne E. Weatherwax following David b:1747
