Ann Weathearwax/Hunt died 26 Jan 2008 at her home this morning in Western Massachusetts. She was my mentor when I started to seriuosly consider writing a family genealogy covering all Weatherwax lines of decent. We had worked together in resolving missing links and lines of decent since the early 1990's. Every spring was a new adventure and the two of us would find new venues in New York state to explore to find documentation to further our families history. A life long researcher Ann had been at Genealogy when I was not aware of what it was all about. Her grandfather and my Great Grandfather were brothers and they migrated to Western Mass. from upstate New York at the turn of the century. She had served the Berkshire Historical Society of Berkshire Co. Mass in many capacities and was a long serving volunteer at the Silvio Conte NARA center in Pittsfield where she had been reconized for her outstanding volunter service. She is survived by her husband Charles (Chuck) Hunt, her children, grandchildren and most importantly to her the Great Grandchildren all of whom I was introduced to through her collection of photographs. Final arrangements are still being taken care of. Ann decended along with me from the line of David Weatherwax 1747-1830 and his wife Magdalena Cipperly.
