William I just went back a re-read all of your postings and mine. Because you seemed to be writing in short hand I interpreted you were say that Charity Bradt b:1831 married Clement S. Weatherwax. At the time I started to reply to you I did not know that Charity Bradt had married Clement Studebaker as you later pointed out. To me it appeared you then said that Amanda Bradt married Clement S. Weatherwax. Now going back over this again I went to USC 1860 and 1870 and tracked Charity Bradt/Studebaker and her husband. It does appear that Charity Brat may have died in childbirth. USC1870 confirms Clement is now married to a Anna 10 years younger than Charity Bradt. and he know has a son George and a daughter anna as well. It appears both children are by his second wife. I had not tracked the BRADT family other than to identify the siblings of Amanda who was my only concern. I now see why you may think that Amanda may have chosen the name Clement S. Weatherwax for her son, expecially in light of the apparant death of her sister etc. So please accept my apology for not understanding what you wrote. Because I did not know that a Clement Studebaker existed. I suspect your reponse on the naming issue is more reasonable now. That certainly would explain the elusive tie in to the Sudebaker family and why we would not find a direct Weatherwax/Studebaker link.
