My great great grandfather Peter William (Devine or Webster) left a Scotish settlement in abt 1850 when a disagreement came about that lead to a duel. He was deported as a fugetive and sailed to France. While in France he met a woman named DeVine who he married and assumed her name to leave france to go to Montreal Quebec. He finally ended up in Thorne Quebec as a Devine instead of a webster. If you have any knowledge of this story we may be related.
