Hi again, No, don't worry about the birth date.Family lore says John was moving just ahead of the army about which he had made some disparaging remarks so he probably changed many details.I have read of a failed uprising in Germany in about 1848.He might have been part of that and escaped to Switzerland. If he left Germany with a wife and two sons the time frame would have matched because that third son was born in 1850.Sometime between then and 1859 when Urselena was born, he lost a wife and gained another.Totally guess work on my part. Does Neuhausen have the 'family pages?'Years ago I found another ancestor in Klein Aspach. The village had 'family pages' and I was able to trace them back many generations. Do you do family research for a fee or is this a hobby?Do you attempt to keep Weiblen family records or is there some area of the family that you are particularly interested in? When families immigrated from Switzerland, was there a favored port of exit? What ship passenger records are available there? The Hamberg Immigration List is to be available on the internet but so far only a few years are indexed. Of course, there would have been many other ports and I've heard that most of those records were lost.If John was really not welcome in Germany, he probably left by some other route anyway. I found Metzingen. Thanks again!
