Hello,I am looking for information regarding Johann Christopher Weidner.
I am a descendant of a Johann Christopher Weidner as well who also had a son named Michael. He immigrated from Germany and landed in Philidelphia. However, there seems to be some mix up in the records we have been accessing.
From the information we have been able to come up with Johann Christohper was born in Germany in sometime between 1730 and 1745.He was Hessen from around Offenbach, or at least we thought this was our Johann.
This branch of my family is my father's paternal lineage. They were from southwestern Virgina..Washington County.. a place called Widener's Valley.
We thought we had traced the family tree back to Johann Christopher who first settled in Philadelphia.
The story has it that Michael's grandson, George Dunton Widener who was lost aboard Titanic, was my great grandfather's third cousin. He had aquired a gold heart shaped puzzle in Germany and was bringing it back to America for my great-grandfather.
I am not all together sure where this came from or if there is any truth to it.
I have not been able to find any other Johann Christoher Weidner (Widener, Widner) in the online records I am able to access, but perhaps some of you who are more skilled at this sort of thing may know something.
You may email me if you wish.I look forward to hearing from you.:-)
