Hi, Looking for any and all info on the above, starting with Daniel (2) Michael Wiegold, possibly born in Ireland in 1837. He married Ellen Sullivan in London, UK in 1858 (fathers Daniel (1) Wiegold and Eugene Sullivan) and was a tailor. His eldest son was Daniel (3) Michael Wiegold, born 1860, daughter Elizabeth was born 1866 and son James in 1872, all in the East End of London. (James is the first to be registered as Wygold on his death in 1874). Daniel Jr 'married' (no trace can be found at present) Alice Jane Clauson/Clausson/Clawson sometime after the 1881 Census (where he and Ellen are entered as Mygold, with no sign of Daniel (2) !), and their eldest son, Daniel (4) Michael, was born in 1890. My grandfather, Leonard Joseph Wygold, was born in 1899 in Bromley-by-Bow, East London, one of seven to Daniel and Alice and died in South East London in 1964. In 1922 Daniel (3), Alice, Daniel (4) and Horace (b.1901) emigrated on the Homeric to America, arriving at Ellis Island on April 13th. Another son, Charles Richard, joined them in 1923 on the Belgenland.Daniel (3) died in 1929 at San Pedro, Ca., and most of the family returned to the UK, while Daniel (4) stayed in the USA. Alice Jane died in London in 1950, and Leonard served in the First World War, became estranged from the rest of his family and went to Australia in the 1920's, coming back to the UK after an accident. Dan (Daniel (4) ) died in 1967 at San Diego, Ca.
If any of the above rings any bells with anyone, please do get in touch.
