He arrived in Philadelphia, PA on 11 Sep 1741. On the same ship were Friedrich Hertzog, his father-in-law and Pleikard Dietrich Seyler, who was to become his brother-in-law. He was in Ora nge (Chatham) Co., NC by 1759 which he and his son John White were chain bearers on the survey of a Granville Grant on Rocky River, to Zachariah Martin.
