Linda,
We may not have the Wells blood in our veins in common (I do descend from the line), but we have something else in common. I spent 32 years as a teacher, and got credit for four more on my military service. I then retired in 1990, but got bored sitting around watching soap operas all day, so I then started substituting and averaged three days out of the five day week in a classroom someplace. I began my teaching career in what was then elementary schools in Jeff Davis County, Georgia teaching 7th and 8th graders and ended up teaching special education classes for the same age group here in La Grange, Georgia for my last twenty years.
You asked what you could do to help my research, and I'm uncertain. I do know I have no information about the register books at all and I am very interested in them. I am also interested in anything that mentions Henry, or his father, Jeremiah, and probably most anything about Berry himself. In the 1830's, while still a young man Henry also lived in Lowndes County, and I believe held some type of political office there.
Thank you for any help you can give me. Robert Jeffries([email protected])
