WELSBY 1845-1891 in Lancashire
Searching for information on any of the following individuals from the 1871 Census:
RG10/3981
20 Napier Street, Gorton Township, Church District of St. James
Head: John WELSBY b 1845 (age 26) in Wigan, Lancashire (Forgeman in Ironworks);
Wife: Ann WELSBY b 1848 (age 23) in Gorton, Lancashire;
Their Children:
James WELSBY b 1867/4 yrs;
Margaret WELSBY b 1869/2 yrs;
Ann WELSBY b 1870/6 months.
Also Johns sisters and brother living as boarders with him:
Ruth WELSBY b 1852/Bolton (married William BOOTH in 1873;
Alice Ann WELSBY b 1855/Openshaw (married Robert CLAYTON in 1877 and Thomas HAMBLET in 1891);
James WELSBY b 1858/Gorton; and
Ellen WELSBY b 1861/Gorton.
Alice Ann is my ancestor, I have Ruth, Ellen, James and Alice Ann on the 1881 census but no John.I think I may have found Johns son James in the Adel Reformatory in 1881, the age and place of birthplace are right but I need to research it more.
Any information on any of the individuals would be wonderful.I hope to hear from someone soon.
