I have very little on the WELSHAN family.I have the obit of John WELSHANS wife, Hannah (HAMBERGER) WELSHANS.
LOCK HAVEN EXPRESS, 06-06-1935 “ Mrs. Hannah Welshans, 74, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frances Slenker, at the corner of Jay and Bald Eagle Streets, a 1.20 o'clock yesterday after a ten days illness following a stroke of paralysis. Mrs. Welshans, who was born and reared in this city and resided in this vicinity all her life, is survived by the following son and three daughters: Joseph Welshans of Sunbury; Mrs. John B. Kyler and Mrs. Slenker of this city; and Mrs. Robert Hager of Clearfield. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. James Bloom of this city and Mrs. Albert Courtney of Renovo, and two brothers, Lewis and Edward Hamberger of Lock Haven R. D. Funeral services will be conducted at the Welshans home at 224 East Clinton Street tomorrow afternoon at 2.30 o'clock in charge of Dr. J. E. A. Bucke and burial will be made in Highland Cemetery.”
My connection is with the HAMBERGER family.Hannah is the daughter of Joseph F. and Bertha "Patty" (FENDRICH) HAMBERGER who both came to America from Baden, Germany and married in America (Joseph from the village of Herbolzheim and Bertha from Allfeld)in the 1850's. (Source: Catholic Church Records FHL INTL Film#1049349 & St. Agnes Cem. tombstone dates in Allison Twp., Clinton Co., PA).
Hannah's mother, Bertha (FENDRICH) HAMBERGER, died 1 March 1924 in Lock Haven (Death Certificate).I have been trying to find a photo of Bertha.Maybe one of the descendants has one.
