I have read through all the postings looking for some connection to the Wendlandts that moved to the western part of Wisconsin, near Bloomer.I was happy to see so many connections for Wilhelm, Robert, and Charles; but disappointed I could not "tie in".I believe there must be some connection, way back in Posen so I am going to include with this posting, some of the information I have.
My Wendlandt was named Gust (more than likely short for August)and he married Hacia Justine ??? They had between 7 and 10 children:Bertha, Fritz, Henrietta, Julia, Gustave Herman, Gottlieb Ferdinand, and Johann L.To the best of my knowledge, Gottlieb, Johann, and Gustave all settled in Bloomer, Wisconsin. Johann eventually moved to Duluth, MN.Hacia Justine was buried in Bloomer.According to a clipping from Chippewa Times newspaper March 18, 1885 Gus Wendlandt was committed to an Oshkosh asylum.
My direct line is Gustave Herman who was great grandfather to my husband, David.Gustave married Marie Wilhelmina Albertina Stolt and they had a total of 12 children, 10 of whom survived infancy:Albert 3/25/1870, William Herman 9/4/1873 to 4/1/1882, Anna Ottilie 8/14/1875 to 4/12/1882, Edward W. Reinhardt 11/5/1877 to 9/8/1957, Bertha 5/24/1879, Amelia 10/16/1880 to 1969, Alvina Wilhelmina 4/14/1882 to 4/1937, Otto Robert 10/8/1884 to 8/20/1941, Emil 4/12/1886, and Ida Amalie Pauline 2/15/1889 to 12/5/1913.
I think I have found a connection to Albert, but have had no confirmation.Nothing on Emil or Bertha.
If anyone could help me with either of those two brothers or their sister, or more information about Gust and Hacia, or Marie, I would be grateful. If you contact me by e-mail please indicate the topic so I don't delete it in my Junk Mail.
