Perhaps this will provide some clues for you:
Thomas Wescott (Jr.), b. 2 Apr 1738 in Freetown, Middleborough, Plymouth Co., MA, d. unk, married 29 Sep 1757 in Dartmouth, MA, Elizabeth Braley (see Braley below), with whom he had children: Hannah (1757), Thomas (1761), Benjamin (1764), Elizabeth (1766), Tryphena (1769), Joseph (Sr.) (1771), Mary, William, and Louisa. See "History and Genealogy of the ancestors and some descendants of Stukely Westcott":165; Middleborough VR: "Thomas Wascoat the Son of Thomas Wascoat by Hannah his wife was born April the Second 1738."
Joseph Wescott (Sr.), b. 19 Jul 1771 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., MA, d. May 12, 1844, in Lebanon, Grafton Co., NH, married about 1800 Freelove Kimball (daughter of Stephen and Miriam (Howland) Kimball), with whom he had children: Joseph (Jr.) (1800), Reuben (1802), Isaac (1804), Mercy (1806), Edwin (1808), Richard (1810), Eliza (1812), William E. (1814). See "History and Genealogy of Stukely Westcott":166.
You can see where both the Braley and the Kimball connections come from.
Elizabeth Braley, b. 30 Sep 1740, in Middleboro, MA, d. unk, was the daughter of Ambrose and Mary (Reynolds) Braley of Portsmouth, Bristol Co., RI. See NEHGR Jan 1894:75; "Braley genealogy":177; "History and Genealogy of Stukely Westcott":186.
