Sorry it has taken me so long to reply - I have been on travel the past week.
I do not know if I am related to Wintjen/Watjens listed or not. They are buried in Lot No 1940, Sec 58 of the Greenwood Cemetary, the dame Lot and Section that my Gantert/Rasche relatives are buried in.A Great Aunt of mine asked for and recieved a listing of all the people buried in this Lot and section and that is what I have posted. No other information was given besides name and date of interment. The address for GreenWood Cemetary is 500 W. 25th St., Brooklyn, N.Y.you may also look them up on the web at www.green-wood.com
In my search to see if I could make a connection between the Wintjens and the Ganterts/Rasches I came across the following info:
Henry Wintjen appears on the 1840 and 1850 NY census in New York City, 1st ward, E. Division, Page 038.He also appears on Doggett's N.Y. City Directory 1849-1850 page 1460 as a "grocer".
Wish I could be of more help - but Ihope this gets you started in the right direction to find more of your family. If you do find a connection to the Rasche or Gantert families please let me know and we can compare trees to see if there is a match.
