I have only one Edward Whale in my family tree. He was Edward Whale born in 1842 (in Brinkworth or Malmesbury), son of Charles Whale and Mary Knight. However, I have 2 pices of information that may or may not be of interest. One, Charles Whale had a younger brother, Mark born in Brinkworth in 1797 who might be the father of your Edward. I don't have any records of Mark's children. If you ever find out that Mark is the person you are looking for, then we are definitely related. Two, one branch of the family tree started going by the name of Wheal in the early 1800s. In fact, the Edward that I mentioned earlier in this message had a brother that went by the name of Frederick Wheal most of his life. It turns out that when one speaks in the accent associated with this area of England it is almost inaudable to hear the difference between Whale and Wheal, hence the drifting in the spelling of the name. Good Luck, let me know how it goes.
