Very excited to receive your letter tonight.I have been trying for over a year to get a connection to the Whall family.I have found Eliza/Elizabeth very elusive, I have had no luck finding her birth (wrong name of course) and I have been unable to find a death at all, under any name including her married name. There is a great mystery surrounding her and I hope you and I can work on this puzzle together.
Eliza - as I have been calling her - was the first wife of my husband's father and they had two children, Lily Louise and Charles Albert. My husband Gordon's father came to Canada around 1913 and either brought the children then, or came earlier and sent back for them.... so far no clues or ideas on that one.We do not know if Eliza was dead (in childbirth? although no evidence yet) or was divorced, unlikely in those days, or just plain deserted !!!Anyway Gordon's father raised the children in Canada and met and married Gordon's mother in 1921.Gordon was their only child and he was born in 1921. I have traced quite a few of Eliza's siblings and ancestors, how about you?
I am really looking forward to corresponding with you on this. Where do you live (country), we are in Canada although I am English born, my husband Canadian and both widowed and then married each other.
