I want to thank you for the information on the children of John and Mary Frost Wheaton.I also want to apologize for the long delay in posting a reply.
Unfortunately, I was not aware of any other siblings until you called it to my attention, so its axiomatic that I do not have any information that may be more relevant than what you posted.
I do have three William Wheatons in my file.
1) My first cousin's son (living). 2) William Anson Wheaton (1798-1865) m. Sarah Hall had son, Anson William Wheaton (1846-1916), son of Jonathan Wheaton and Penalope Lacey). Jonathan Wheaton was the son of Jonathan Wheaton (1755-1828) and Anna Cook. Jonathan Wheaton was the son of Jonathan Wheaton, Sr. and Anna Cook. Jonathan Wheaton, Sr. was the son of John Wheaton I and Mary Crowfoot. 3)William E. Wheaton (b. 1819) son of Oliver Wheaton, Jr. Oliver Wheaton, Jr. was the grandson of John Wheaton III.
Again, besides the Issac and Jacob you mention, I have no others by those names.
As I understand you issue: you seek the parents of William Wheaton born 1779 in New England. At that time, in my line, Oliver Wheaton, Sr. and his wife Johannah ? were having some 16 babies between 1772 and 1806.I have no record of any of them being born between 13 March 1776 and 18 December 1880. All of these children were born in Lenox, Berkshire, Massachusetts:
1. Erastus (1772) 2. Nancy (1774) 3. Oliver, Jr. (1776) - my ancester 4. Calvin (18 December 1780) 5. Stephan (25 December 1780, a twin born about 1 week later?--or a typo) 6. Stativa (1783) 7. Joseph (1786) 8. Eber (1789) 9. Philo (1791 - probably died young) 10. Ashbel (1794) 11. Paulina (1796) 12. Philo (1798)
All these children were probably born in Killawog, Broome, New York, USA:
As the story goes, Oliver Wheaton, Sr. packed up his wife, Johannah, and all his young children and worldly possessions, and in 1799 went up river by canoe until he came to a location where he believed it would be a particularly good place to get a drink. So, he opened the first Tavern in Killawog, New York on that very spot. That's why I say its probably that the younger children were born in New York.
Anyway, that is about all I really know/have about this family at that point in time and in that general vicinity.
