If you are stuck with a brick wall on a Wheaton, Wheadon or Weeton line any spelling DNA can Help. Or if you would like to further our research or confirm a relationship. Please contact me. Very interested in all Wheatons, Wheadons, Weetons , Wettons etc.
To date there are 22 members of the FTDNA Wheaton Surname Project---more if you count those tested elsewhere and we are now accepting females with Autosomal results. Although Males who do the Y-DNA STR testing are the most successful. Here is a round up of current results:
Group A: 2 Men who are of the Sidbury, Devon England Wheatons (one from Devon the other from Australia)
Group B: 11 Men who are related to the immigrant Robert Wheaton from England to Salem MA in 1636---still looking to find a match in England to place his ancestry there.
Group C: 2 Men who are related to Thomas Wheadon from Devon who are not related to the WheaTon group A
Group D: 2 Men who are descended from the Staffordshire, England Wettons (some later spelled Wheaton) not far from the village of Aston Wheaton
And 3 results that are unattached looking for other connections. One of these is in England the other two have New Jersey lines.
