Tried sending to Dori Fulk's e-mail but it was returned therefore below:
My name is Oriel Andrews and I live in Durban South Africa originally from Derby UK.I have just come across your site while looking for information on my lost grandfather and wondered if there may be a connection, I noticed a newspaper cutting this morning in my Mother's effects the date on the newspaper was 30th July 1938 which showed Mrs I.H Wheatcroft (nee Christabel Hardie) and her week old son - which prompted me to have another go on the computer to look for my Grandfather.
The information I have is as follows:
My Grandfather Percy Alfred Wheatcroftborn in Burton-on-Trent 1882, married my Grandmother Ann Elizabeth Ellen Wilkinson 25th March 1905, they had two children Florence Gwendoline Wheatcroft (my Mother) and Bernard Horace Wheatcroft.
My Grandfather left his family and disappeared, the family believe he went to America. His mother was Emma Wheatcroft Died age 81 20th November 1921.His father Samuel Wheatcroft.
I attach a picture of the family in England when Uncle Horace, his wife and secretary came to visit I guess the year about 1910, my Mother is 4th from the right (she was born 1/3/1906)Uncle Horace took the whole family to Brighton for the week, my Uncle gave my Mother 20 pounds when he left (of course all this information I was told by my Mother). The picture of the family with Uncle Horace, his wife and Secretary (not sure who is who!)My Grandmother is sitting on the left with Bernard on her knee.My Grandfather is at the back - my mother I guess wrote 'Dad' above where he is standing. After my Grandfather disappeared Uncle Horace wanted to adopt my Mother and take her to America but my Grandmother would not allow this.
I would dearly love to know what happened to my Grandfather and have been looking for years for information. Looking at your site there does seem to be a lot of coincidences - and I hope this e-mail may bring me the missing link to my Grandfather.
