Looking to answer questions about the Wheatley family in Eagle Grove, Wright co., Iowa. James WHEATLEY was a son of Fannie. Both had been born in Canada (Fannie in Feb. 1839, James abt 1870) but unsure of province. They appear in Eagle Grove for the 1895 state census when James was married to Drucilla EARP, a daughter or Jonathan Lawrence Earp. James and Drucilla had Vivian May in 1893 and James Edward in 1895. The parents don't appear in the 1900 census for Wright co., but Vivian and James are found residing w/ Fannie in Eagle Grove. Vivian remained in Eagle Grove and married Harry Northrop abt 1920. James enlisted in the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Forces in 1914. I found reference to a James Edward Wheatley married to Margaret Dodge. Margaret lost their daughter in childbirth 12 Feb 1930 and she herself died 3 Mar 1930, in Parry Sound, Ontario. She was abt 22 years old, and there is no age listed for her husband James. Not sure whether this is the same James Edward Wheatley originally of Eagle Grove, Iowa. I am primarily working on the Earp lineage, but would like to trade info to clear up some questions re: the Wheatleys.
