I seek to share information on the family (ancestors and descendants) of Thomas Henry WHEELER.My information, not all of which may be correct, is as follows:
Thomas Henry WHEELER, b VA (some sources say OH) abt 1812, d IA bef 1880.In 1850 he lived in Bloom Township, Morgan Co., OH.In 1860 and 1870, he lived in Clear Creek and Richland Townships, Keokuk Co., IA.His occupations were farmer and merchant.He may have had a brother, (George) Washington WHEELER, b abt 1801.Thomas Henry WHEELER was married four times.
Wife No. 1.Emily MILLER, b OH, d abt 1845 Eagleport, Morgan Co., OH.Four (4) children:(i)Gilbert WHEELER, b 7 Jan 1837 in Eagleport, d 9 Sep 1881 in Duncan Falls, Muskingum Co., OH (he and his descendants are well known).(ii)Calvin N. WHEELER, b abt 1839 OH, d 2 Nov 1871 Beverly, Washington Co., OH.(iii)Elisha WHEELER b abt 1840.(iv)Melissa WHEELER b abt 1844.
Wife No. 2.Jane PERRY, b abt 1816 PA, m 30 Oct 1845 Perry Co., OH, d 1852 Morgan Co., OH.Three (3) children:(i)Thomas Henry WHEELER Jr., b Aug 1847 Morgan Co., OH.This may be the same as the Thomas H. WHEELER who served in theCivil War, Co. K, 7 Reg., Iowa Volunteer Infantry and was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Irwin, Shelby Co., IA.(ii)Emily J. WHEELER, b Jul 1850 Morgan Co., OH.(iii)Samuel D. WHEELER, b abt 1852 OH or IA.
