Hello!Labe Holt was my dads grandfather.Labe and Edith had multiple children, including Wiley who is my father's dad and my paternal grandfather.
Wiley and my grandmother Virginia Greenman bounced between the Aurora Illinois area and Central Wisconsin.Wiley had three boys, my dad Ronald, Donald, and Thomas. My parents moved to northwest Wisconsin in the late 70's.
I am currently working on verifying many branches of our tree.Labe and Jeff's father was named Levi.We have information that Levi's grandfather (Labe & Wiley's great grandfather) was one of three brothers named Jacob, Laban (or Thomas Laban) and Jeffrey. The apparently emigrated from Germany aboard a ship named Thistle to the port of Philadelphia. The major records indicate such a ship in1730 & 1738.
Apparently one or all of the brothers fought in a war and recieved land grants we thought in Kentucky. We were told it was the war of 1812 but chronologically it makes more sense that it was the revolutionary war.Soldiers from Virginia recieved land grants in Kentucky.Soldiers from Carolina recieved grants in Tennessee. We found a land grant to a Thomas Holt to land in Kentucky for serving in the war.
My father and grandma know a lot about the family from Labe and Jeff onward. They have visited Glagow Kentucky and spoke with cousins. We would love to speak with you or anyone else.
