What do you have on Peter Wissler, father of your Heinrich? Davis in his book has Peter, b. 10 Jan 1664, Langnau, died young. Then, Peter, b. 6 Aug 1665, Langnau. Both are listed as sons of Hans Wissler, b. 25 Feb 1659, Langnau (No wife's name given). It is not unusual for parents to name a child with the same name as one deceased.Davis lists no more information on Peter, b. 6 Aug 1665.Your Heinrich could be his son.
Davis has my Hans born to Heinrich and Barbara Grumbacher Wissler, b. about 1694, Sumiswald.Langnau and Sumiswald are only about 6 miles apart.Davis also says that Heinrich and Barbara left Sumiswald soon after 1702.This family may very well have moved to the Palatinate in Germany to avoid persecution. As I mentioned earlier Davis has your Heinrich, b. about 1712, as a son of Heinrich and Barbara. He could very well be wrong on that.
My Christian Wissler, (1747-1827), was a grandson of Hans, b. ca 1694.He was first taxed at Manor Twp., Lancaster Co., PA in 1769 next to widow Wisler(his step-mother) and Rudolph Wisler (his uncle). He was living at Manor Twp. in 1800 on 120 acres. He was of Manor Twp., when he bought land in Donegal Twp. in 1791.He was married to Anna Schock, a daughter of Jacob Schock of York Co., PA.Christian and Anna are buried at Creswell, near Lancaster. I have visited the cemetery where they are buried.Their cemetery stones are still there but difficult to read. Christian and Anna are my ggg grandparents.
