George Washington Luther, b. 6 June 1868 MO, d. 9 June 1959, MO was married four times by the 1900 census. The three known marriages are to:
Lydia Jane Jones on 16 Sept 1885 Conway County
Dona Pennington on 4 Sept 1890 in Van Buren
Mrs. Sophronia White, a widow, on 21 Nov 1906 in Randolph Co.
I hope someone can provide more information on his third wife Sophronia. Sophronia M. was the daughter of Mary L. and Edward P. Westbrook (he b. Mar 1845 Kentucky). She was b. Dec 1874 in MO and had been married to a Robbins first, name unknown. Soprhonia Robbins, sometimes called Frona, was married to Henry ("Harry") White (b. Feb 1879) on 19 Apr 1897 in Randolph Co.
This Harry White appears to be the son of Dr. John A. White (the only person killed when a cyclone hit Randolph Co., AR in 1883) and his wife Matilda T. Robbins. It is not known if Sophronia Westbrook's husband with the last name of Robbins is related to this family or not. Matilda T. Robbins White married Jake Tyler in 1888 after her husband was killed. When she died in 1905, it was stated that her son Harry White was so sick in the hospital in St. Louis that he could not attend her funeral. Frona and Harry White are on the 1900 census in the household of her father Edward P. Westbrook in Randolph Co., AR.
Harry White must have died 1905 because on 21 Nov 1906 in Randolph Co. Sophronia White married George Washington Luther. For the 1910 Jackson Co., AR census Sofrona and George are in Jackson Co., AR with four of his children by a previous marriage; Sophrona says she has one child alive.
On the 1920 Saline Co., AR census in the household of Sophronia and George Luther is her son Raymond White, b. ca 1901 in AR. I cannot find him anywhere on the 1910 census. I also can not find him or his mother Sophronia Luther after the 1920 census.
Can anyone help with information about Sophronia M. Westbrook Robbins White Luther and her son Raymond White?
