William Woollen and Mary Whitely had a son, Jacob Woollen born in Dorchester Co., MD.Jacob is my g-g-g-g-gf.I think Jacob died in Dorchester Co., MD, but I have no exact record of his death date or cemetery.Do you? Jacob married Nancy Corkran about whom I know nothing.
Mary Whitely was a daughter of Solomon Whitely and Hope.I do not know Hope's maiden name, so her ancestry is lost to me.I know nothing about Solomon Whitely's birth, marriage, and death dates and places, and I do not know his parents or lineage. Can anyone offer proof of any of this needed info?Their families were probably in Dorchester Co., Md., but I know nothing about any reference sites or assistance with this county.
Jacob Woolen and Nancy Corkran ahd a daughter, Jane Woolen b. 6 Oct 1820 who married Robert Henry Whitely born 27 Aug 1815 in Caroline co., Md.I have his whole line.Robert and Jane moved to Indiana after marrying in Md. on 12 Jan 1837.They lived in Henry Co., IN where I was born.Robert farmed and was a Quaker.Jane's brother, William Robinson Woolen, visited Robert and Jane in IN, and eventually settled himself in Indiana where he farmed, married, and raised a family in a northern county.I have attended a Whitely reunion on a farm near where Wm. Robinson Woolen settled as his descendants included actor, James Dean of Hollywood and Indiana.
Robert H. Whitely and Jane Woolen Whitely are both buried in a Quaker Cemtery in Spiceland, a small town with Quaker pioneer roots in Henry Co., Indiana.
