I am trying to determine the mother ("Mary J.") and father and other ancestors
of Nicholas John Whitesell. On the 1880 census he gives his father's birthplace
as New Jersey, and his mother's birthplace as Holland.Presumably his mother
and father passed away and/or are interred in the Wenthworth county area of
Ontario, Canada.

Whitscell, and (less commonly) Whitsell. It seems to have originated as
Whitesell in Canada, is spelled Whitscell on censuses, some grave markers, etc.
