Mrs. Gorman, 82, of Box 416, RD 2, died at 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1987, at Mercy Hospital, following a brief illness. She was born July 8, 1905, in Altoona, the daughter of Calvin and Amelia Whitsel(should be Lula Anna Way Whitsel), and married Charles E. Gorman, who died in February 1967. Surviving are a son, Robert W. of Glendale Heights, Ill., and a grandson. Also surviving are a sister and brother: Margaret Farber of Altoona and James. Mrs. Gorman was a member of the Fifty-Eighth Street United Methodist Church for 68 years where she taught Children’s Sunday School for more than 50 years and served as a communion steward. She was also a member of the Canan Station Senior Citizens. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Broad Avenue.
