Hi,I believe you mean Robertson Whittinghill (sometimes listed as Robinson). We are definitely related as he is my gr-gr-gr-grandfather. Cook does not have a son named "Addison" listed for him, but that doesn't mean a thing.Often children are missed when researching families.I am descended from Robertson's son Thomas Jackson Whittinghill, then Thomas's son William Charles, and Wm's daughter Ethel Mae who was my grandmother. And your mom was right - there are mistakes in the book, most of them are pretty common mistakes made when doing genealogical research.Frankly I am very interested in doing an update of Cook's work, but I've only begun on that branch of the family. The book says he was born 14 Jan 1814 near Harrodsburg, Mercer County KY.He died 29 Nov 1891 at New Albany IN and is buried in the Sellersburg (IN)Cemetery.I am planning to make a trip to Harrodsburg KY and through southern IN to visit cemeteries the last of April/First of May.I hope I can find his grave and get a photo of it.I'd like to talk to you. Will you email me at [email protected]?I'd like to exchange some info but not on this forum.
