His real name was Doctor George Fenemore Whitton. Tombstone has DGF Whitton and footstone has DOC. He was supposedlynamed after the Doctor who delivered him. B. 30/1/1856 D. 27/5/1941. He was born in Cherokee Co AL and died in Section Jackson Co They are buried in Mt Zion cemetery Sarah Suzannah Eubanks was born probably in Paulding Co GA on 14/10/1858 and died in 1839 in Section, Jackson Co AL. Her Tombstone has Suzannah. They were married in 1879 in Cherokee Co AL. They had 2 sons and one daughter. He was my Great Grandfather and I was lucky to have spent some time there when I was child. His father George lived in Cherokee Co in 1860, 1870 and 1880. Inman lived with them in 1870. Also his brother William. In 1880 he was living with daughter 19 years old and some younger children. he was a widower. I thought he went to TX but when William died his wife and children went to TX and one was a son George. I don't think my George would have gone with very young children. A TX friend was helping and there is no Smyrna in Wood Co TX. William's family went to San Augustine Co and there is a Whitten Cemetery there. I don't know where Inman, Sarah or George are buried. No graves in Cherokee Co that anyone can find. In 1900 he would have been 67. They could have been taken to Coweta Co where other Whittons are buried.
