See my followup posting to "Whyte Family of Paisley" by Ken Morrison. I am interested in the "Russell" name that may connect your Whytes with mine. My great-great-grandfather William Whyte (b. 1811 Scotland) m. Margaret Watson May 11 1834 Paisley (b.1814 Paisley). They emigrated to Upper Canada, settled in Alice Ontario. Two of their sons had offspring with names "Russell" as follows: Andrew Whyte (b. 1838 Scotland) m. Martha Montgomery, had daughters Barbara Russell Whyte (b.Jan 27 1872 Alice Ont) and Margaret (b.Mar 13 1874 Alice Ont); James Whyte (b. 1849 Ramsay Ont.) m. 23 Apr.1872 Florinda McClelland (b.1846 Pembroke Ont) had sons John Whyte(b.May 12, 1873 Alice Ont.), William Gordon Whyte (b.June 5, 1875 Alice Ont.)and Russell Whyte (b. July 28 1876, Alice Ont.) Your Andrew Russell Whyte (b. 1776, Abbey, Renfrewshire) and his wife Margaret Russell Whyte m. 31 Dec. 1816 Paisley Burgh, Renfrew may have been uncle/aunt to my William Whyte (b. 1811)and the name Russell may be a maiden name of mother to your Andrew Russell Whyte and grandmother to my William Whyte?
