Hi Erin. The web is much smaller than you may think. We met a number of yrs ago, I doubt you would remember me at all.I know of your Grandfather and some of your family history. Your Grandfather's name was Alfred Eric, not Al James. He moved to Collingwood Corners in 1967, the centenial year, and I suspect around 10 yrs before you were born.He was a medic in the navy.He would have been too young to have served in WWII, but may have served around the period of the Korean conflict. He served in Africa, but I know not of a campain, registry of a ship or any rank he earned. He chipped the stone for Margret's wedding ring from a stone he obtgained while he was there. She lost the diamond and it bothered her a great deal.He was also very active with the Shriners.Break out the funny Fez hats!He also worked as a guard at the Springhill Penn. from '67 until sometime in the '80s. His mother was a Shaw from Grand Bay, which is outside St John, on the Fredericton side. His parents were seperated, and she was quite an alkie. She liked her booze, dats for chore! She was friendly, for an old lady, bright and cheery, she also liked the lads. She liked her men like she liked her booze......strong, hard and often. At this time I cant remember many other details, if you would like to stay in touch, please feel free.
