Hi, my name is Regina Widger. I was born in Springfield IL and grew up in Arkansas. Roy Widger is my great grandfather. He married Allie Elam (b.1888) in Mulberry Grove, IL. They had one son, my grandfather, Fred Widger. Roy went to WWI and was wounded and shellshocked. When he returned, Roy and Allie divorced. He supposedly married again and had kids but I don't know their names or where they lived. Roy died in the 1960's and is buried outside of Vandalia, IL.I have no record of Roy's father but my dad is trying to find that out. My grandfather, Fred, lived with his mother in St. Louis, MO where the family owned and operated several grain elevators. His mother, Allie nevertold him anything about his father or any ancestors. My grandfather moved back to Vandalia and met my grandmother, Irene Burnell Nevinger. They had one son, my dad, Fred E. Widger in 1942 in Vandalia, IL. He and his parents moved to Bushnell, IL. He went into the army and in his 3rd year of active duty he metand married Jane Welch from Hagerstown, Maryland in 1965 at Carlisle, PA. They moved to Springfield, ILhad my half brother, Tim Widger and my half sister, Kim Widger. They divorced and my dad met my mom Sandy Stine and married in 1979. They had me in 1981 and we moved to Eureka Springs, Arkansas in 1985. They currently own and operate a Days Inn there. I now reside in Tampa, FL. I would like to know more about Roy and his parents and ancestry.
