My name is Jan Hendrik Ate Wiekamp (7-6-1962) living in 's-Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch). My father, Jan Hendrik Wiekamp (10-5-1920, 21-6-1999) has spent years researching our family history/geneology. He built a large database using the HazaData program holding several 100's of our ancestors including and preceding the founding father of the America line, many of whom's decendants still live in the Iowa area. The program is in Dutch, and nothing has been added since my father deceased 2 years ago. Anyway, it is quite substantial and my father made quite an effort to link up the American tree to the Dutch. I know there are several Wiekamps in the US he has been in contact with and which are also interested in the geneaology of the American line (which has been spreading much faster than the one in the old world, with now more Wiekamps in the US.) By the way", there is a family "coat of arms" and our family is linked up with the Wehkamps and Wijkamps (Wiekamp being the Frisian pronounciation of the Wijkamps family name, which moved over to this northern province). I case you were not yet aware: Wiekamp/Wijkamp is derived from the Old GermanicWeij, mening Holy/Sacred and Kamp mening Field/Lands.
