As you can see I got the last name Wielandt. I live in Holland and I can tell you that our name originally comes from the southern part of Holland thats called Belgium now. I got a family tree thats going back to the 15th century. In these days a lot of familymembers had an important role in the country. One of the members Phillips Wielant(born around 1450) was the adviser of King Phillips the second and wrote the first dutch criminal law book. My grandfather was Alexander Johannes Jacobes Wielandt and he was Born in Edam (Holland) in 1881. A lot of his cousins (and later my grandpa also) went to live in the dutch colony Indië (now Indonesia)and mixed up with Indonesian people. So we have a very mixed family. After the surrendering of Holland and the start of the republic Indonesia the whole family had to go back to Holland. Three of my ungles emigrated to California (LA) and about 25 of my cousins and two of my aunts still live there. I tried to find the name of your grandfather but I could'nt find it. That has not to be strange because the family had a lot of members around 1850 and the family tree doesn't subscrive the whole family. So I'm not sure that we are related but there is a possibility. I know that there is a family in Germany with the same last name. I don't think they are related to my family. I could'nt find the connection. I hope that you can read my English because that's not that good. If you have any questions you can always email me.
