I am not sure that this will help but I have two Jacob Wiest that fit, at least in part your two. The first was born in 1730 in Germany and Died December 14 1806.He fought in the Revelutionary War in Captain Bowman's Company. He was at the Battle of Brandywine and the sword he carried is still located in the family. This is verified in Series 5, Vol. 7, pp 502 1n3 1120 of the Archives of the State of Pennsylvania.
He was married to a Mary Roshen in Philidelphia on October 15 1751.They had two children that I know of Christian and Catherine.
Christian married a Martha Van Auken in 1776 and had at least one son, Jacob who was born on December 15, 1783.He married Catherine Hostler in 1806.The same year his grandfather and name sake died.He fought in the War of 1812.He died on November 20, 1872 and was buried in Fairfield Co., Ohio.
He and Catherine had 12 children: Elizabeth, Benjamin, John, Jacob Henry, Catherine, Sarah, Mary, Lydia, Samuel, Jonas, Sophia, and Lucetta.
John Wiest is my ancestor. He married Mary Dennis and had nine children one of which was Noah Wiest.Noah married Caroline Young and had six children.Nellie Fern Wiest was one of three girls and my grandmother. She married William Thomas Giffe Stephenson who was known as "Giffe" and they had four children.
Noah and Caroline are buried in Ft. Recovery Ohio. They were married in Winchester Indiana and lived in and around Jay County most of their married lives.
I got most of this information from a family Bible.
Jacob's Revolutionary sward was in Jerry Wiest son of Robert, son of Noah, son of Jacob, son of Christian,
Hope this was of some value though I'm not really sure that we are discussing the same family.son of Jacob, according to my father his cousin.
