I don't believe it is correct to say that the wife of Edward Wigglesworth and mother of Rev. Michael and Abigail was Esther Raine or Rayner.
"The Todd Family in America" says that Edward Wigglesworth and Christopher Todd married sisters, Hester and Grace Middlebrook, daughters of Michael (and siblings of Matthew and Michael), and that the two families emigrated from England to New Haven together in about 1638.
"A Record of Thomas Stanton and His Descendants" says that in 1657, an "M. Middlebrooke" of Leeds, sent a letter to his nephew, Rev. Michael Wigglesworth, leaving it with a Thomas Stanton with orders that they letter be conveyed to America. If Hester was Rev. Michael's mother, he would be nephew to both Matthew and Michael Middlebrook(e).
The Bishop's Transcripts for the Parish Church of Wrawby, Lincolnshire, England, include a record of the marriage of "Ester Middlebrooke" to "Wiglesworth" on 27 Oct 1629 (two years before Rev. Michael was born).
Savage's "Genealogical Dictionary" does say that Esther, wife of Edward Wigglesworth, was "perhaps" the sister of Rev. John Rayner, but he doesn't claim to be certain of that.
There is also record of the christening of "Edwardus Wigglesworth," son of "Willi," on August 3, 1603, at the Parish Church of Scotton, Lincolnshire, England.According to Savage, Edward Wigglesworth, father of Rev. Michael, wrote a letter on July 18, 1653, stating his age as 49, which would just fit the Edward christened on Aug. 3, 1603.
