I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. Heres a post I happend to stumble across. The George here is my Great Great Great Grandfather.WILCOX Family Info
Hello, your message is an old one and you may have found information on your Ira Wilcox, Jr. by now. But I thought I would reply. Ira Wilcox, Sr. and Nancy Robinson Wilcox is my family also. I come down through their son Zeri Wilcox who was born 1820 Madrid, St.Lawrence, New York and died 13 Feb 1885 Sandstone, Jackson, Michigan. According to the Niagra County, New York County history this is what it says about your Ira Wilcox, Jr. : he came to Porter in 1837 from St. Lawrence County New York. Cynthia Wilson was probably third wife and they had a daughter Mary Ann Wilcox that married George Dexter Perry. Ira Jr. was born 3 Aug 1818 and died 1902 in East Porter-though I could not locate him in the 1900 census.
There were three more brothers after Zeri. Ryal Wilcox b. 14 Dec 1821 George Wilcox b. 25 Sep 1823 Elisha Wilcox b. 18 Aug 1825.
The big roadblock is to locate Ira Sr. and Nancy Robinson Wilcox where they are from and their ancestry. Even paid a researcher through the NEGHS who are considered the best and they couldn't find any links though through census records indicte that they are both born in Vermont.
I believe it was off from an Ancestry.com forum. I just copied and pasted it on a word document to look into. My Wilcox connection is as follows: Ira Sr, George, Willard M.Sr,Willard M Jr, Betty Jane, Jane Ellen, Amanda Jane. This has been quite a family to research for me! Exciting peeling away each layer shall we say.Any help would be appreciated, I have more information on Willard Sr. siblings as well.
