In 1936, my great uncle Monroe Elmer Wilbur got the following when he wrote to the Wildbores in America Association, then based in Baltimore. I have found some small errors in it, such as his father, Herman Leroy, came from Candor, N.Y., not Cando. I have Herman's mustering out certificate from the Civil War and if the age on it is correct, he is 3 years off on my genealogy pages they sent. I gather the association was run by John Wilbore, possible a descendant of the man who wrote the Wildbores genealogy book. Don't know if that association is still around.
My lineage is Samuel, William, Samiel (spelling?), Samuel, Esek, Gideon, Ismond, Herman Leroy, William I., Bessie Wilbur Heckelman (my gran), Jean Heckelman Henderson (my mother). Will keep in touch.
