I am trying to clarify the information I have on Lovina (or Lovena) Newkirk.I have 2 sources that together cause confusion for me and any help in clarifying this would be appreciated.
The Wildermuth material I have shows:
Reuben Newkirk married Mary Kemp. They had several children including Cyrus Newkirk and Henry Newkirk.
Cyrus Newkirk married Catherine Wildermuth (daughter of David Wildermuth and Elizabeth Wagner) they had many children including Isaac Newkirk.
Isaac Newkirk b. 7-3-1834, d. 10-6-1890 married Lovina Newkirk b. 11-25-1846, d. 9-11-1916.
The Wildermuth materials indicate that Lovina Newkirk is the daughter of Henry Newkirk and Mary Ann Barfield (Barlow?) and that Henry is the brother of Cyrus and the son of Reuben.
The Newkirk material I have cites the A. N. Hurley book but has no listing of a "Lovina" as a daughter of Henry Newkirk and Mary Barfield. They Newkirk material shows several children including 2 daughters who might be possibilities as "Lovina".
One is:Catherine G. Newkirk, b. 1846
The other is:Martha (V. A.) Jane Newkirk, b. 1848.
By birth date it would seem that Catherine G. is Lovina. But, if Lovina is a nickname, it's possible that Martha (V. A.) Jane is a possibility.
