My 6xgreat-grandparents Edward Willan of Tosca and Mabel Garnett of Mansergh Hall Houses married on 25 September 1712 at Kirkby Lonsdale. For a time after that they lived at the Willan family home at Tosca, but some time before 1726 they moved to Nether hall, Mansergh (for full details of this see posting on Garnett Forum).
In the 1720s there were at least families headed by an Edward Willan baptising children at Kirkby Lonsdale parish church. However it seems that the following were children of Edward & Mabel (with residences):
Thomas bap 6 July 1713 (Tosca); bur 6 June 1716 (Tosca) Alice bap 12 Sept 1714 (Tosca); bur 1 May 1717 (Tosca) Jane bap 18 March 1715/6 Thomas bap 27 Oct 1717 (Tosca) Mary bap 25 June 1720 (Tearnside) William bap 12 Nov 1721 (Tearnside) Elling bap 20 Sep 1724 (Nether Hall, Mansergh) Alice bap 17 Oct 1725 (Mansergh); bur 29 Nov 1725(Mansergh)
It is possible that edward & Mabel then moved to Kirkby Lonsdale as there was an Ellin, daughter of Edward Willan of Kirkby LOnsdale buried on 29 March 1727.
