Dorothy L. EMAL, 86 years of age, of Beatrice, died Wednesday evening, May 3, 2006, at BryanLGH Medical Center East in Lincoln. She was born April 13, 1920, at rural Firth, Neb. Dorothy moved to Beatrice in 1939 and was an apprentice at Woods Beauty Shop. She was a licensed beautician for 53 years. Dorothy married Elmer EMAL on September 19, 1939, at Geneva, Neb. She was a member of the Church of Christ and a past member of the National Hairdressers Association, American Legion Auxiliary Unit #27, VFW Auxiliary, and AMIT.
Survivors include two sisters, Evelyn KORTE of Albuquerque, N.M., and Bethel WINKLE of Thatcher, Ariz.; two brothers, Ron WILLET and wife Sharon of Estes Park, Colo., and Richard WILLET and wife Alyce of Beatrice; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Gertie (VRYHEID) WILLET; husband, Elmer, who died November 29, 1997; three brothers, Jesse, Roy and Donald WILLET; and one sister, Goldie WILLET.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 8, Fox Funeral Home, 19th and Garfield streets, Beatrice, Neb., with Rev. David A. Bigley officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice. A memorial has been established to the American Heart Association with the Fox Funeral Home in charge.
