A aunt of mine did some research on your family in 1987. George Wildfong is the original ancestor of the numerous family of this name, was a native of Bohemia, emigrated to America and settle in North Carolina as early as 1750. His family consisted of several children but none of the names were received save that of Jacob and Mary who was married to ANDREW SARARS.
Jacob was born in 1753 in North Carolina. Opposed to slavery moved to Pennsylvgania.A Jacob and wife and family of three or four moved to Lancaster Country, Pennsylvania, where he resided for six years, then he, in the company of others moved to Canada in 1802 and settle in Waterloo Country, Ontario.
The Willfang spelling of surname appears to have start with my Great-great grandfather DAVID WILLFANG BORN Aug 1831, Doon Ontario, Waterloo Country DIED Nov 1918 - buried - St Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Neustadt, Ontario were most of my relatives are buried in a family plot.
